UPDATE: Wheaton Mall Reopens Tuesday after Hurricane Sandy

Westfield Wheaton announced that mall stores and restaurants will reopen Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Update, Tuesday, Oct. 30, 9:30 a.m.:

Westfield Wheaton has confirmed that mall small stores and restaurants will open at 11 a.m. Anchor stores will open at their regular times, according to a Twitter update.

"Westfield Wheaton Mall stores and restaurants are tentatively planned to open at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 30th, dependent on the aftermath Hurricane Sandy. We will provide another update at approximately 9:00am on Tuesday for a confirmation or to change that opening time based on real-time conditions. Department Store hours may vary."

Update, Monday, 3 p.m.:

Westfield Wheaton announced the following business updates via Facebook:

  • Target will be closing at 4 p.m.
  • Dick's Sporting Goods will close at 7p.m.
  • Giant will be open until midnight.
  • Hollywood East Cafe and PJ's Rice Bistro at Restaurant Row will remain open until this evening.

Original post, Monday, 11 a.m.:

Westfield Wheaton announced via Facebook and Twitter that the mall would be closed Monday due to weather conditions from Hurricane Sandy.

However, Giant in Wheaton Plaza is open regular hours Monday--not closing until midnight.

Target in the mall is also open during its regular hours--not closing until 11 p.m.

Dick's Sporting Goods, also in the mall, is open until 9:30 p.m.

Panera Bread is also open, according to a Westfield Wheaton Facebook update, but as with the other stores, it may close later in the day as the weather becomes more severe.
