Where to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Wheaton

Irish or not—you can hit up these bars in Wheaton and Silver Spring.

Who's up for some green beer? You don't have to be any more Irish than a mug of Guinness to take part in St. Patrick's Day, an annual celebration of the Catholic figure credited with spreading the religion to Ireland. 

This year, the spirited holiday denoted by Irish food and drinks in the United States, occurs on Sunday, March 17.

The Limerick Pub (located at 11301 Elkin Street)

Wheaton's Irish pub is serving kegs and eggs from 9 a.m. to noon on St. Patrick's Day, with live music all day long.

The musical line-up for this weekend:

  • Friday: Paddy Goes West at 8 p.m. 
  • Saturday: Dennis Vaughan and Mark Walbridge, 4:30 - 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: White Loafer at 9 p.m.

Royal Mile Pub (located at 2407 Price Avenue)

Royal Mile is a Scottish pub, but it's practically just next door to The Limerick, and it celebrates St. Patrick's Day right along with it.

The musical line-up for this weekend:

  • Friday: Joyce and Band
  • Saturday: 13 Floor
  • Sunday: Pat O'Neal Band
