Fifth Annual Cheerleading Competition Held at Paint Branch High School

The Montgomery Blair cheerleading squad cleaned up in the Burgandy Division of the Panther Cheer Competition. Wheaton High School took 3rd place Captain award.

Six cheerleading squads faced off on Saturday, at the newly renovated Paint Branch High School, for the 5th annual Panther Cheer Competition.  Teams competed for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finish as well as Spirit Award and a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Captains award.  Schools from Paint Branch, Northwood, Magruder, Montgomery Blair, Kennedy and Wheaton performed before a lively crowd.  Teams were scored on fundamental skill, choreography and routine execution.  In the end it was Montgomery Blair that dominated the event.  Blair took home not only the 1st place team finish but the "Spirit Award" and Rachel Robey took home 1st place Captain award.  Paint Branch was awarded 2nd place team finish and as well as 2nd place Captain's Award.  Northwood received 3rd place team award.  Wheaton High School senior Angie Kamara received 3rd place Captain's award.
