Report: Consultant Testifies Costco Gas Station Would Pass EPA Guidelines

The retailer has faced tough opposition from neighborhood groups that don't want a gas station to also open in the neighborhood.

An independent consultant said last Friday that the revised pollution impact numbers for Wheaton Costco's proposed gas station would meet EPA guidelines, The Gazette newspaper reported

The retailer, which opened up shop in Westfield Wheaton in April, has faced tough opposition from neighborhood groups that don't want a gas station to also open in the neighborhood.

Costco upheld claims from a neighborhood association that a previous report submitted by Costco contained math mistakes, according to the Gazette.

More hearings about the proposed gas station are scheduled for Oct. 17, 21, 24 and 28, the newspaper reported.
