Meeting Notice: Wheaton Redevelopment Proposal Process

The meeting will take place June 12 at Wheaton Library.

Wheaton residents will have an opportunity Wednesday night to talk with county officials and potential developers about future plans for downtown Wheaton.

The county is soliciting developers for a mixed-use design and development project in Wheaton that will be the new home of Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission headquarters when it moves from 8787 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.

A public meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Wheaton Regional Library offers attendees a chance to learn more about the Wheaton project and share any concerns. The county has said that potential developers will also be there to hear comments from the public.
