Metro This Weekend
Delays Friday night and Saturday; early opening, free parking Sunday for Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial dedication ceremony.
Expect delays on these lines from 10 p.m. today through closing on Saturday due to platform and track maintenance:
Red Line
- Trains are sharing one track between Shady Grove and Twinbrook for platform repairs. Metro advises adding 20 minutes to your expected travel time.
Blue and Orange Lines
- Trains are sharing one track between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory.
- Orange Line trains are sharing one track between Vienna and West Falls Church.
- At endpoint terminals, trains will depart every 24 minutes.
- Allow for 20 minutes of additional travel time.
Blue and Yellow Lines

IMPORTANT:
On Sunday, Metro will open two hours early--at 5 a.m.--to accommodate traffic for the dedication ceremony of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C. Metro will halt track work, operate more rail cars and offer free parking at all rail stations.
