Expand Your Food Growing Year

Register for any or all sessions. All classes held in the
Visitors Center Adult Classroom.


Session 1:  Seed Starting: Indoors and In Cold Frames – Starting your own seeds is fun and saves money, too.  It gives an early jump on the growing season at a time when endless seed varieties are still available. This workshop will include information on soil mixes, lighting, when and how to plant, care for seedlings, hardening off and everything else needed to successfully start your own veggies! Session 2:  Essentials of Organic Food Gardening – This workshop is for beginning and intermediate food gardeners who want to learn more about the best organic methods to grow beautiful, delicious, healthy food.  Do you need a raised bed; how much compost and soil preparation do you need; what plants should you grow?  Information on site selection, seasonal planting, diseases and pests, even those darned stink bugs will be included.
