Arrests Made in Friday Night Shooting

Four suspects charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

A 20-year-old male from Wheaton was , March 25, in the parking lot of the Popeye's at 12012 Georgia Avenue. Police made four arrests in the case yesterday.

Derrell McCallister, 21, of Rockville, was charged with attempted murder, while Dashaun Neil, 19 of Aspen Hill, Terry Butler, 18, of Rockville, and Natalie White, 18, of Aspen Hill, were charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Each of the four suspects have prior records.

According to police spokesperson Lucille Baur, the group that was arrested fought with three other individuals, an 18-year-old male from Wheaton, a 20-year-old male from Southeast DC, and the victim, a 20-year-old male from Wheaton in the area nearby the Popeye's. 

A physical fight escalated and in the course of the altercation, the 20-year-old was shot.

Police found the victim in the parking lot of the Popeye's, along with shell casings nearby. 

Baur said the officer's reports indicated no gang association, but that the case was still under investigation.
