Police report two strong-arm robberies, assault, burglaries in Wheaton
have released a summary of major crimes for the week of Aug. 8-16:
- Two strong-arm robberies were reported as follows:
- A suspect assaulted a victim and property was taken in the 11200 block of Grandview Avenue in Silver Spring on Monday, Aug. 8, at 1:30 a.m. The defendant is a 31-year-old male from Washington, D.C.
- Two juvenile victims were assaulted by several black males and property was taken in the 2500 block of McComas Avenue in Silver Spring on Monday, Aug. 8, at 6:10 p.m.
- An domestic-related aggravated assault occurred in the 11100 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring on Sunday, Aug. 14, at 8:50 p.m.
- Two residential burglaries were reported on McComas Avenue in Silver Spring. One in the 2400 block occurred on Sunday, Aug. 14, at 9:15 p.m. and involved an attempted forced entry. The other occurred in the 2500 block on Monday, Aug. 15, at 2:26 a.m. No further information was available.
