Police Blotter: July 18-26

Robbery at Wheaton mall, assault near Metro.

Yesterday, Montgomery County Police released the latest crime statistics for the Fourth District, from July 18 through July 26. In addition to the crimes described here, police reported three stolen vehicles and six thefts from vehicles in the Lincoln sectors.

Robbery:

  • On July 24 at 5 p.m, at the McDonalds at 12313 Georgia Avenue, two suspects attempted to assault a victim and obtain property. Arrested: male, 18, from Silver Spring; male, 17, from Gaithersburg. 
  • A strong-arm robbery occurred on July 20 at 2:20pm outside the food court at the Wheaton Mall. The suspect attempted to assault the victim and obtained property. Arrested: male, 21, from Landover. 

Assault:

  • On July 26 at 12:25 a.m., an aggravated assault occurred at the Wheaton Metro station. The suspect assaulted and threatened the victim, then fled. Arrested: male, 21, from Silver Spring. 

Burglary:

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 10400 block of Grandin Road on July 21 between 7 and 11 p.m. Property was taken by unforced entry.
