Police Blotter: May 9 to May 17

Seven burglaries, not all successful.

On Thursday, Montgomery County Police released crime statistics for the week of May 9 through May 17. In addition to the crimes described here, two stolen vehicles were reported in the Wheaton area.

Robbery and Assault:

  • An attempted robbery/assault occurred in the 2300 block of Glenmont Circle, on May 16 at 10:45 p.m. The suspect displayed a weapon, assaulted the victim and obtained property.  

Suspect: black male, 20, 6’, 180 lbs.

  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 2200 block of Georgian Way, Wheaton on May 10 at 9:53 p.m.  
  • A strong-arm robbery occurred at Dean Road and Kenway Street, on May 13 at 11:15 a.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and obtained property.

Suspect: black male, 17-19, 5’8”-5’9”, dreadlocks, black ski mask, all black clothing

Burglary:

  • No forced entry and nothing was taken, during a burglary at St. Catherine’s Church, 11809 Claridge Road, on May 11 between 12:30 a.m. and 7 a.m.  No forced entry, nothing taken.
  • On May 9 between 9:30 a.m. and 2:10 p.m., a residential burglary occurred in the 12600 block of Layhill. Property was taken without forced entry.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 11800 block of Claridge Road, between May 10 and May 15 5/10. A house was vandalized, but nothing was taken. 
  • Between 10 a.m. and 2:10 p.m, on May 9, a residential burglary occured in the 2300 block of Glenmont Circle. While the means of entry is unknown, property was taken. 
  • A residential shed burglary occurred in the 12200 block of Goodhill Road, May 5 and May 11. Property was taken through forced entry.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 3500 block of Farthing Drive, Silver Spring on May 15 at 1 p.m.  Unknown entry, nothing taken.
  • Between 11 a.m. and 1:40 p.m on May 5 residential burglary occurred in the 12500 block of Dalewood Drive. Property was taken through forced entry.
