Victim of Third Carjacking Speaks Out

The anonymous 77-year-old describes how he was assaulted in the Target parking lot at Westfield Shopping Center on Sunday.

The 77-year-old Silver Spring lawyer who was attacked with a box cutter on Nov. 27 at the Westfield Shopping Center told his story to The Washington Post yesterday.

Police said the robber drove the man to at least three ATMs that afternoon, robbing him of about $1,800, according to The Washington Post.

The victim, who wants to remain anonymous, recounted how his attacker repeatedly threatened to kill him.

“I was just down there bloody. I thought this would be the end of me,” he said Wednesday as he recuperated in his bedroom, a bandage around his left calf and bruises under each eye. “He was a pro. I just felt like he knew what he was doing, like he does it every day.”

Police have arrested a suspect, Henry Levi Sanders, of Landover, in connection , according to police and court records.
