Application Deadline Extended for WUDAC Vacancies

How does someone join the Wheaton Urban District Advisory Committee? The application deadline has been extended.

The Wheaton Urban District Advisory Committee, which advises the Montgomery County executive about the revitalization and redevelopment of Wheaton's downtown, has four open spots.

Here are the positions available:

1. A representative from a Wheaton business with 10 or more employees.

2. A representative from a residential community located within two miles of Wheaton's Urban District.

The last two vacancies on the 11-member committee are reserved for optional method developers.

WUDAC members are not paid for their three-year terms, but they can be reimbursed for travel and dependent care for meetings attended. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. at the , 2424 Reedie Drive, Wheaton, MD 20902.

Home and employment addresses, as well as contact phone numbers and email addresses should be included. If appropriate, applicants should indicate the position for which they are applying. The deadline for application was June 27, but it has been extended.

Leggett's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.

Members of county boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.
