Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett is sponsoring a series of budget forums "to seek input from residents about Fiscal Year 2013 operating budget priorities," according to the official county news release.

- The Wheaton Library Advisory Committee and others who support the combined renovation of the and the neighborhood recreation center on Georgia Avenue
- In a tweet on Jan. 13, the Coalition for the Fair Redevelopment of Wheaton said that it was preparing for the Jan 17. budget forum. The coalition is urging followers to help collect online petition signatures the day the CIP budget goes public, which will be Tuesday morning. This online petition would ask developer B.F. Saul to enter into a community benefits agreement.
