Michelle Obama Talks to Wheaton HS Students at Georgetown University

The first lady held a short Q&A with high school students this afternoon about going to college.

High school students from Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., were treated to an intimate Q&A with Michelle Obama today to wrap up a college immersion event at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

The first lady spoke to students at approximately 3 p.m. for 10-15 minutes, then take questions, according to a White House spokesperson.

The students from Wheaton High School in Maryland, Anacostia High School in Washington, D.C., and the White House Leadership and Mentoring Initiative received a tour of the university, visited a college class, ate lunch with college students and learned about the college application process.

Wheaton High School was the only high school chosen from Maryland because several students from the school were already in the White House mentoring program, according to a White House spokesperson.

The first lady has held similar events for students at Oxford University in the United Kingdom and at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
